Local Name: Wonjo // Botanic Name: Hibiscus Sabdariffa
A popular tea of the tropics! Wonjo is most often drank cold as a source of refreshment, but can also be consumed as a hot cup of tea. Fun fact, Bissap (cold hibiscus tea) is the national drink of Senegal and is most often infused with mint and sugar.
In its natural state, Wonjo is a deep red tea with a taste often described as tart or sour. As a drink, it is diluted with water to a vibrant red and paired with sweeteners like honey, maple syrup, sugar and many others.BENEFITS
